New to the forum. My wife and I have never owned a camper but just bought a 2014 Jayco X17Z. We wish it was spring! If anyone wants to share some of the essentials for a first timer, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Welcome from Kalamazoo! The first camper we owned was a 2007 17 Export. Basically the same thing you have but 2014 model. You'll find all kinds of advice here on what to get. What we did was camp out in the backyard and make a list of important items to have, then we made a list of nice to have items. We built our "essentials" list from there. One other thing we did also was pick up a camping world master catalog and looked thorough it. You don't necessarily have to buy your stuff from there, you can get stuff cheaper online and at Walmart we have found. Don't be afraid to ask questions, there are a lot of knowledgable people here. Good luck.

Welcome to the JOF and congratulations on your X17Z. We have a 2010 X17Z and love it. It has been an excellent unit and was our third camper. Our first one was a 1975 Winnebago D-21 Brave followed by a 1991 Fleetwood Flair 26R.

Maybe, just for you, we could all agree to just skip winter this year and go right to spring!
