New Mexicans who bought Michigan-based Jayco on eBay

Hello Fellow Jayco Owners,

Just wanted to introduce ourselves. We live in the Albuquerque area and bought a 2013 Jayco Jay Feather X213 trailer off of eBay last summer. So far that was really the only time we used it as we put it in storage for the winter. But we did put some miles on it and our 2008 Ford Expedition over about two months' time last summer.

Since the trailer we bought was in Michigan, we drove the Expedition up from New Mexico, added the necessary towing equipment, and picked up the new Jayco. With 3 kids, 2 adults and 2 large German Shepherds on board, we certainly put it to the test. On that inaugural trip we drove to Michigan, Ontario, Montreal, Niagra Falls, Chicago, Des Moines, Tulsa, Amarillo, Albuquerque and many parts in between. What a great home away from home it proved to be!

We are now in the process of buying a new towing vehicle as our beloved Expedition now has about 120,000 miles on her. We discovered this forum as we are just starting to plan our summer camping fun!

Looking forward to learning from this great community!

Welcome from Northwest Indiana. We have a 2011 X213 and love ours also. Our camping party is small compared to yours, only two adults and a small dog. Enjoy!

Welcome to The Forum! Sounds like a GREAT TRIP! So often, we're in such a hurry to "get there & back" that we never stop to look around at all the beauty this country has to offer. And there are campgrounds in some of the most beautiful spots. That's what makes having a home on wheels so fabulous. Glad you were able to make a "trip of a lifetime" out of it.

Welcome Aboard

We were avid tent campers from the 50s 60s and our first RV trailer turned out to be the OFF ROAD POPUP trailer. Have drug it all over Virginia, East Coast, Gulf States, and as far West as Texas and Okla. Wonderful trips...

Momabear was wanting to get something with hard sides for awhile so we really centered in on the 2010 X213 and almost got one haha...

Actually got to tow one with our F150 truck for a couple of days trying one out...

Really liked what we saw in the X213... There is only the two of us and even drew up plans to mod the bunk area for a OFFICE/COMPUTER/RADIO ROOM etc complete with L Shaped Desk and hutch. Complete with office chair haha...

The only noted drawbacks back then was the alignment of the very large rear slide needed close attention as it would tear up the table and couch cushions when sliding back in. The earlier ones also had problems with water leakage around the rear slide door.

In the end we just never got one... That was going to my pick of the lot...

We are still running the roads in our OFF-ROAD POPUP camper.
