New to camping

Hello Everyone!
I am new to camping and my wife and I are thrilled to get out of the hotel vacations and get back to enjoying nature!! Growing up, my parents would take us to state parks to go play in the lakes or ride the bike trails, but never experienced the camping side of it. My wife grew up camping with her Grand-parents and absolutely loved every minute of it. So with both of our boys loving to be outside all the time, we decided it was time to get into camping.

We ordered our first camper about two months ago and have just found out from our dealer that it is in!! We have a 2012 Eagle Super Lite 308 RETS with a few upgrades, and we are hoping to take delivery on it some time next week.

I thank all of you for being active in the Jayco Forums as it has definately steered me in the right direction on a few things already, and I am sure more in the future. I hope one day I can help one of you out in some way, and would love to run into a few of you along our future camping journeys.

Welcome imaynard. Somehow camping builds more lasting memories than hoteling it, at least in our family. I recall taking our 3 kids to Disney ( which was wonderful) one year and camping out to the Oregon coast the next. One son said it was better than Disney. I think the quiet times spent building sandcastles, hiking trails etc brings a family bonding that does not always come from other types of holidays.
