New to camping and Jayco

Hi All!
My Name is Jim and my better half is Susan. We have never owned a camper before but are looking forward to putting our new Jayco Jayflight SLX 212QBW
to good use! We got a great deal on the camper and just a preliminary thorough looking over (we have not been able to take delivery yet) It looks like it was built on Wednesday or Thursday! It looks very well put together! I found the Inspection checklist that was created by forum members and it is very detailed. Great job guys! I hope to be able to use it when we do finally take delivery.

Congratulations and welcome to the forum.

Since you've never owned a camper before, there will be a ton of new things to learn. I suggest that the two of you do the PDI together. Taking videos can help, too.

Usually the person at the dealer doing the PDI has done a lot of them and will conduct it at a rapid pace. You may need to slow them down a bit and ask for clarification for things that don't make sense. Hopefully, too, you will have water and propane in the trailer so the operation of the furnace, fridge, stove, water pump, and water heater can be demonstrated and shown to be in working order.

Don't hesitate to ask questions, both at the PDI and this forum.

Welcome! I have only been a member of this forum barely a year (after I bought my first trailer). Having rented one every year for 20 years was not enough as I have learned. Owning and doing all maintenance, setup, tricks, and tips have been an eye opener (for the good of course). This site has been a valuable resource in learning many of these things.

Hope your wait is short and wish you all the best with your Jayco.
