New to camping and new TT

Well, its been several months but I'm finally able to post!

Thanks so much Crabman and Rolly for all of your help! It is much appreciated.

So my wife and I decided to buy a camper this year. Not the most financially responsible thing we've ever done but we definitely want to raise our 2-year-old right and make sure he appreciates all the things the outdoors have to offer.

We purchased a 2012 Whitehawk 28DSBH. So far, we've only been camping once but we love it and we have reservations to go again in July and August.

I have lots of questions but I will wait to post when I have more time.

Thanks so much in advance for everyone's help and insight. It's real people, like everyone here, and not some customer service department that really make owning a camper a pleasure.

I look forward to the posts!

Adam

Hi Adam

Welcome to the forum.
As to borrowing money for a camper.. after being married 28 years and raising five children and now grandchildren.. I can say with great certainty that if you are going to borrow money for anything in life.. borrowing it for an RV that cultivates relationship, adventure, priceless memories, and quality family time... will be looked back on as one of the wisest investments you ever made.
If you take good care of it.. it will last you many years and give you much joy!

IMHO

Welcome to the forum Adam. Once again my apologies for the long wait to post. I think our activation issues are now a thing of the past, although there may still be a few that got caught in the cracks that are still not activated. Enjoy your new Whitehawk.

Thats a great point Ladywendolyn!

My wife and I have always loved the outdoors and feel like it's a great way to teach kids quality fun, responsiblity, being good to the environment and self worth.

We actually weren't going to purchase a camper this year but my wife started having some medical problems earlier this year. She's only 33 so it was (and is still) a little scary. Anyway, she said she wanted to start making memories with her family now.

The next week we owned a camper.

Adam - I predict you will never regret your decision. My wife and I started camping a long time ago, and 4 units later, we still love it. When we just don't have the time or money to go somewhere, we have been known to camp in our field, and pretend the house is not there. Camping is just about the most enjoyable family activity we can think of. Enjoy your new TT !!

Welcome to JOF. We also purchased a 28 Whitehawk . We love our trailer and have gone out several times already this year. I read somehwere on this forum to make a journal of your camping trips ( great idea ) Our new tt has definitely created some great family memories and quality bonding time.

Congrats on your new trailer and enjoy all the adventures you will have.

As a new member to the site, I have found that using the search feature on the tool bar very useful to answer many of my questions. I agree, camping by far has been the medium for many a good time with lots of memories. My inagural trip is this Friday and I created a camping journal to keep in the camper. I read that in one of the forums on here. Enjoy!
