New to RVing, almost a Jay feather 221 owner

I am about to sign on the dotted line for a 2013 Jayfeather 221.
I am a bit intimidated by its length as I will be towing with a Ford Ranger rated for 6000 lbs. I am hoping it will work since the trailers loaded weight is 4950 lbs. I would be using weight distribution bars and a brake controller obviously.
Any comments on the trailer or my plans to tow it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Randy

First, welcome to JOF.

I would highly recommend doing some more research on the actual towing ability of your pickup. There is lots of good info in the "towing" section. I would also encourage you to ask questions in that section as well, I have a feeling you may be pushing it with that combo.

I pull a 2011 Jay Feather 221 with my '07 Avalanche, 5.3 L motor, 3.73 gears if I remember correctly and rated to tow 7000 lbs. I wish I had more power or a different rear end. I do not think that weight is so much an issue is the wind resistance.

Welcome to JOF, Randy. As mentioned above, go to the "Towing and Tow Vehicles" section and you will get a lot of feedback on your particular setup.
