new to RV'ing, not camping
I know there are huge differences. I tent camped for years before I bought a pop-up in May 2013, and barely had time to use it. Now at the end of 2014 I found myself working a construction job (long term) and looking for a place to live. I signed a 3 month lease (950/month for a glorified hotel room furnished), but almost immediately started looking for something I could full time in. In early December I went and purchased a Jayco Eagle 338RETS TT, and just last week had it delivered to me me here in North Texas. Many workers here are doing the same thing, so I've gotten many tips etc, but would always like to hear others experience. I've reached an age where I do not have to make all the mistakes myself anymore, but can sometimes learn from others. I've already had an extra 100# propane tank added to the propane system. I will hard pipe the sewer, and plan to only fill and use the fresh tank until the weather warms to the point of being able to hook up to city water without the danger of freezing. I'll monitor grey and black levels and hook up the hose to flush those as required. I will most likely get the bottom of the unit enclosed with blue foam boards, and may put a string of construction lights under there to keep it warm on the cold panhandle nights. The unit has an electric fireplace/heater in the living area, and may also add an oil filled in the bedroom. Anyone have any other tips, things to look for from your experience? I'm looking forward to having a space that I can call my own that actually has a chair and kitchen to use!!

Nothing better than the pillow you own. You didn't mention if it's equed or not but thermal pane windows would be a good option . Sound like you have the skirting and underbelly stuff figured out.

congratulations, sounds like you have most of the major items figured out. I would strongly consider some method to dehumidify. I do not full time, but for us Max air roof vent covers are a must, so you can comfortably leave a roof vent cracked open (1/2") and this will help reduce moisture. A small dehumidifier my still be needed.
One additional item I would look at is the access hatches, typically they are not insulated, you might want to look at them.
