New to the forum

I'm new to this forum and just picked up a 2004 Jayco 29FBS. I upgraded from a Trail-Lite Bantam Hybrid, the Jayco is so much nicer!!!! This is my 4th camper and second Jayco (first was a 1995 eagle 10 pop-up). I've had it out one weekend already and really love the extra room from the slide. I have a new mattress on the way, the one in it is very lacking.

Most of my camping is dry camping in the National Forests of Montana, with an annual Labor Day Weekend trip at Glacier National Park. It will take some getting used to the length of this beast though.

Here are some pics, most of the decal were removed by the previous owner.

Thanks for the warm welcome everybody! I was camping in the Little Belt mountains in those pics, 45 miles from the house. Heading down to the Helena area this weekend and my neighbor is taking his camper too. Staying at a BLM campsite (White Sandy) that I've never been to so I don't know what to expect yet. Hopefully it's nice, it's right on the Hauser Lake.

re mattress we found ours in our new Jayco 22RB to be not the greatest as well and we added a Costco feather bed its like sleeping on a cloud. Love it and its light.

One of the reasons we moved up to our Jayco was our desire for an actual bed (we'd been sleeping on the 'dinette' for years). While our mattress isn't 'top-end' it sure beats what we had!

The 23K has an odd sized bed - kinda like a short queen - I suspect that Jayco either made them or had them made specifically for the TT. If I was looking at getting a better mattress any idea's where I'd find one this size?

Awesome looking trailer, BTW...looks like you found a great unit!

I just changed the mattress in mine, it too is a queen short. I went to walmart.com and bought the "bed in a box" for $210 with free shipping. It is an 8 inch thick foam mattress (5 inches regular foam and 3 inches of memory foam), it's a little firm but way better than the one that was in there. The cover is zippered so I can cut the foam to the right length. I left it long for now but it is a pain to squeeze around.
