New to Travel Trailers

Hi everyone, we are new to this forum and are planning to purchase a Jayco Flight 32TSBH. It is a tripple slide bunkhouse that we fell in love with for its grand "kids room" in the back. We purchased a popup back in 2007 and this is a big step up for us. We have two kids and loved camping in the popup but wanted to move up to something that doesn't require as much set up. Does anyone know about this model or have any suggestions for what options we should consider? Love to hear your thoughts/suggestions.

Welcome to the forum, lifercars! The 32TSBH is new for 2012 and to my knowledge there are no members who have that model yet, I could be wrong. But I have looked at the floorplan and it sure looks roomy and kid friendly to be sure! There are quite a few members with the 32BHDS, but that model has been around for years.

I would get the thermal package for approximately $400, expecially since you are in SE Michigan.

For the hitch I would get the WD plus the sway control.

Lifecars,

Welcome to the JOF forums

I would strongly consider the following options:

Customer Value Package with 15,000-BTU A/C
Electric Tongue Jack
Front diamond plate
Roof ladder
Satellite kit
Spare tire and tire carrier

Bob

New to Travel Trailers, update

Thanks for all the replies everyone. I did a llittle more reading after posting and found some helpfull stuff from "Crabman" and "Healthi" that were posted elsewhere. I didn't find a way to edit my original post so I'll add some info here. The 32TSBH that we're considering is pretty much loaded but I think it only has the 13,500BTU A/C. I noticed on the Jayco website that the 15,000BTU A/C upgrade is only $143 but I don't know if that is something the dealer can swapout or if it has to come from the factory. It has the thermal insulation, the tech package, the elite package, spare tire & carrier, rear ladder and airbed in the living room. We've also inquired to the dealer about TV brackets for the back room ($50 installed) and our front bedroom ($130 installed). At the moment we're not planning on towing it so it will sit at a campground we belong to and they'll tow it on and off site for us. My DW really likes her minivan and to be honest I like it too. It's a great all around family hauler. My commute to work is too long to do with a truck (gas cost will kill us). But maybe in a few years I can convince her to consider a truck. It's too bad no one makes a minivan that'll tow like a 3/4 ton truck, lol.

I really like the 32TSBH but my wife likes the second door option and the outside kitchen that the 32BHDS gives. Can someone tell me what satellite kit gives you? I could not find it on the Jayco site.

Welcome to the forum lifercars. The unit you're looking at seems pretty well decked out. If it were me I'd spend the extra $143 for the 15K AC if your dealer is willing to do the exchange/install.

If I were to do a TT again, I'd put the money on getting the best hitch possible like a Hensley or Pro-Pride. I had wished that I had done that when I bought my 34' trailer. Now if you're all set on that, then go for the bells and whistles!

32TSBH vs 32BHDS

[QUOTE=cbaka27;60010]I really like the 32TSBH but my wife likes the second door option and the outside kitchen that the 32BHDS gives.

The 32BHDS was actually the camper that made us consider JAYCO as a brand at a recent RV show. Prior to that we usually focused our attention on the Forest River brands. But we were impressed at how much room the 32BHDS had for the upper bunk above the couch/sofa. That extra height makes it easy for a child to climb up as well as enjoy sleeping up there. It's amazing how many builders will design and build a nice camper but forget or purposely ignore the kids that have to sleep in the upper bunks. We also like the outside kitchen layout of the 32BHDS but have a 14 year girl who likes to have space between her and our 12 year son. So the wide back room was the seller for us.

We also looked at the 32tsbh, but decided we'd rather have the outdoor kitchen and exterior bathroom door instead. When the bh slide is out, it's more than enough room for our 3 kids (2 teens & 6 yr old).

If only I could have it all

[CruizinKim] We also looked at the 32tsbh, but decided we'd rather have the outdoor kitchen...

Snap, now I'm going to think of your post every time I grill at our campsite lol. The 32TSBH has a hanger for an RVQ and it looks like it's set up for adding a sink. But it's not the same as an outdoor kitchen complete everything you need including a fridge and a canopy to shade you while you grill! All self contained with no setup. And you're right, with the bh out the back bedroom of the 32BHDS is very roomy. Enjoy camping.
