New trailer, new member, hello!

Hello everyone,

The wife and I are first time trailer owners. We aren't exactly 100% owners just yet, but we put a deposit down on a 2015 Jay Feather X213 (below) this past weekend, the deal should be done in the next few weeks. Really excited. Looking forward to participating in the community and getting to know everyone. I think forums like these are invaluable and I'm looking forward to learning all I can, and obviously looking forward to doing some traveling!

Nice to meet you guys!

Welcome. My first travel trailer trip began in Chicago(Maywood) in 1963. Wonderful memories. My sister and her husband had bought their first travel trailer, a 1963 Holiday Rambler I do believe. Had the overhead bunk and the dinette. I was between my junior and senior year and they both taught school. They offered to take me camping for the summer with them, in exchange for babysitting a 3, 4, and 5 year old. I will never forget that trip as it was my first time out of Florida. Overnighted to Chicago on the Silver Meteor train run. We left through the locks in Michigan, up and into Canada, the Prince Edward Islands, Nova Scotia, and Maine back down. First lobster fest, on the wharf in Maine. Just a whole lot of first for me and I have been a camper ever since. You will make a world of memories as well. Congrats on the purchase!

You have come to the right place. Lots of experienced campers willing to share their knowledge with the rest of us.

I like the floor plan, especially the king bed!!!

Congratulations.

Talking

Wow... thank you everyone for the kind words! This is by far the warmest welcome I've ever received in a forum, and I'm a member of several. I appreciate all of the positive comments and encouragement! Being newbies we'll definitely have lots of questions. Before I go around double posting I'll do some searching around, I can already see by just a quick glance there is a plethora of great information that I can't wait to read through.

We just sent in the paperwork for the financing this morning, so it looks like we'll be taking delivery on February 20th, if not sooner. We would go up earlier but that's our first free weekend, it's about a 4.5 hour drive from home. Gonna be hard to wait, but it'll be worth it I think! Everyone I talk to has nothing but good things to say about owning a TT and all of the great times they've had.

Thanks again! Looking forward to many more posts ahead!

Great to see lots of new members alongside me as well.

We just tentatively scheduled our pickup for February 19th. So I'll probably end up with the requisite picture of my wife and I standing next to our new trailer sometime in the next few weeks.

Now just need to get the leveling kit installed on my truck so they can adjust my WD height accordingly!
