Hi All,
I'm from Masachusetts and we bought our Jay Flight 26 bhs G2 in August 2009. Have only used it once so far, so were looking forward to using it a lot more this year. We very pleased with it so far.

Thanks Iciancola. I haven't been to the ocean since I was in the Navy. Now I live as bout as far away from the ocean as possible (Nebraska). I miss it at times.

rvrev2 -
Navy? I spent 8 years in the US Navy from 1982 - 1990.
Stationed in Guam & Long Beach, CA & Bangor, WA.
Guam = Tug Boat for 2 years
Long Beach, CA = USS Prairie for 3 years
Bangor, WA = Nuclear Sub for 2 1/2 years
Served as an Electrician on all duties.
Discharged as EM1 (Electricians Mate 1st Class - E6) after 8 faithful years.
I currently live in Minnesota, so I am as far away from an ocean as you are at this point. However, I would really would enjoy getting back to the ocean scene or any coastal front area.
My wife and I are planning a trip in 2011 for a West Coast trip.
As we said in the Navy:
"Wishing you Fair Winds and Following Seas in your Journey"
Have fun and enjoy all your family trips camping!!!

Thanks Daryl,
I served on the East coast. Three years on Saratoga, and three of Butte. I left an MM1. I actually served in deck dept. on Butte (engine room on Sara). Are there any ship museum's on the West coast you plan on visiting? I enjoyed the USS Alabama in Mobile, AL a couple of years ago.

We have not looked in to that part of the trip yet.
We are planning to visit friends in Lewiston, Idaho for a few days. Continue on through Seattle, WA. area then down through Portland, OR. then ?
We have not planned much after Portland yet.
We are planning a 17 day trip, so we have a few days to venture around where ever it is we decide to stop. So far we have no plans for Ship Visits.
We may see a few while in Seattle area though.

Ex-Navy here too. Served on Forrestal and Saratoga. Didn't move too far from the Ocean, and Annapolis is just over an hour away. Big trip this summer is Mrytle Beach.

Howdy usar2931,

When did you serve on Sara? What department? I served in P2 Division (#2 Auxilliary Machinery Room deep in the bowels of the ship) in 1984-1986.

Hey Shipmate,
I was with the Airwing, VA-83 Rampagers. I arrived for workups for the 1984 Cruise and left Saratoga in July 1984 while we were in Naples. My brother is also CV-60 alumni, with the Catapult Crews for 1 Med Cruise and during SLEP. He left a few weeks before I found out I was coming aboard.

Nice to meet you.
