North TX checking in!

wanted to check in here on the Welcome Mat! we will be purchasing a new 2015 Jay Flight 26BHS in the near future. i'm sure i'll be picking everybody's brains here for years to come!

we will be 1st time TT owners, but my wife and i both grew up camping, and we figured it was time to start making some memories of our own with our 11 year old son and 4 year old daughter.

would love to hear from any fellow RV'ers who have traveled around TX and OK. best places to visit, best parks, etc.

talk to you soon!

sully

Hello Camper! Glad to have you in our forum. I recommend buying the Texas State Parks annual pass and explore online the many parks that Texas has to offer. My wife and I enjoy camping at the lake parks in Texas. One of the best ones we have found is Lake Purtis Creek near Athens Texas. There's also nice RV parks on the Texas coast in Galveston and Padre Island. We stayed at Jamaica Beach RV resort in Galveston last year and had a great time. There are really so many options once you start looking. Good luck!

Welcome from West Texas. Lived in your city a few years ago. One place I highly recommend is Palo Duro State Park in Canyon Tx. Pull it up on the net and the info will give you a peek at the "Grand Canyon" of Texas. Water and Electric only, but nice rest rooms and dump stations nearby. Your kids are going to love RV life.

We lived in Wichita Falls back in the 60s an 70s and then my work brought me to the area many times a years working at the now CLosed down SPACE SURVEILLANCE station west of Archer.

Always made many runs up to Wichita Mtns Wild Life Refuge at Medicine Park OKLA. Great camping and hiking place. We also have family close to Dennison and Bonham... Even know where Gober TX is hehe... Lots of great camping around North Texas...

Welcome to the Forum
