Hello to everyone! I'm new to pup camping and haven't camped since a teen. Bought this 30 yr old pup and have cleaned it up, serviced the wheel bearings, changed out all the lights to LED's, and installed a 5,000 BTU AC thru the rear wall below the bunk. Still much more work to be done but it is usable. Picked up a generator big enough to handle the ac when boondocking.
I did find that the setup is more taxing than I thought it would be. Decided that I take a bit too much with me and have trimmed down my list. I'm thankful for everything that life has to offer and especially thankful that my Mother taught me to be self sufficient.
Have been on two trips already to Big Bend National Park (dry camp) and Possum Kingdom State Park (full connects). On my way to PKSP the roof skin started to peel back. It's raining and I pull into a hotel parking lot at the side of the road and make the repair. Didn't stop me from making the trip as I never go anywhere without tools. Will be doing a total roof rebuild this fall.
I am in love and constantly looking for new adventures as weather and finances permit.
