Our first trailer!!!

Just bought our very first travel trailer, a Jay Feather Ultra lite 23B. Pick it up tomorrow...and [I]'m already having an anxiety attack about driving it home! Found this forum and am hoping that I can get ideas and tips from Jayco users! Wish us luck tomorrow!

Purchased and wrecked within two days. I love my 2011 Jay Flight 26BH. Will love it more when it gets out of the repair shop. Must obtain a spare tire, does anyone know the bolt pattern measurements. I would measure them myself as they show on line however I don't have the camper here it is in the shop. Thanks

We picked ours up last summer and I was white knuckled because I had never pulled something that big. The dealer had every thing set up right and I really didn't even know it was behind us. Hope you enjoy yours as much as we do ours.

We found an empty parking lot that I could practice backing up with before taking it home. That way you can get use to using the mirrors. My tip would be having one hand placed at the bottom of the steering wheel and move that hand in the direction that you want the rear of trailer to go when backing up.

Ha Ha Ha, I know that feeling on the first drive home, didn't sleep the night before pickup. I did just fine that day but a week later we drove down I-5 and right through Seattle and Portland,I was just beside myself that first trip. 47 days later at the end of our trip I didn't bat an eye in city traffic. Now it's like it belongs behind the car. I pull my EXP21M with a VW Touareg diesel and it has power to spare.

Thanks so much for all the support! We did it, and made it home in one piece! It was almost dark by the time we got home, so tomorrow we will get a chance to really "play" with it. I thought we might be suffering "buyer's remorse" but it actually turns out we are just SO excited to have made the leap! I'll post a picture tomorrow!

Hi! I'm uncertain as to hope these forums work. I thought I replied last night that we picked it up and safely brought it home, but I don't see that anywhere. But thanks so much for all the votes of confidence! I will try to post pictures today if I can figure that out Rebecca

Congrats. It was only 4 months ago that we got our first. Backing up and unhitching for the first time was a challenge. No regrets though as we have been on 4 camping trips since then and really enjoy it. I hope you find as much joy in yours!

Congrats on your new TT ...it was definitely interesting bringing ours home.....proper tow mirrors would have helped..otherwise it was uneventful...just swing wider on turns and leave yourself extra space to stop
