Solar Help

My name is Terry and I'm new here. I just bought a new 2015 Jay Flight 23RB. I want to install solar on my travel trailer, but the more I research, the more confusing it gets. I want to install 2 100 solar panels. I'm drawn between Grape, Renogy and Windy Nation. I don't know what else I might need besides a controller. There I'm drawn between a a PWM and a MPPT. I want to separate the two panels: One permanently mounted on top of the trailer and one free standing that I can either hook up in parallel operation or take it with me on my boat. Can anyone help with these options and what else I may need. Thank you.

I would recommend reading Handy Bob's blog (https://handybobsolar.wordpress.com/...ging-puzzle-2/). Get educated on how the parts work and what's important before you dive in. Don't just trust an installer to get it right.

I have installed two AM Solar kits, the latest on my new 2015 26BHS. I used their SunRunner Signature 25MPPT/6/PRO Core with two 160watt panels. I love looking at the monitor to see how things are charging and the state of my battery. At times, they offer a 20% discount. The kits are not the cheapest, but they are high quality and include everything you need. Let me know if you have any questions about my install. In all, it took about 15 hours. It is a good weekend project.

Thanks for this. I forwarded it to my husband. He's researching solar panels for our 5th wheel so we can boondock. He said this is full of great information.
