Test surge protector at home?

I just bought a Progressive Industries ems-pt30c surge protector for our Jayco Ultra Lite 2012 x20e. Can I plug it into an outlet in my home or garage to test it to make sure it works (without frying the electrical system), so that I don't end up finding out at a camp site that the equipment has a problem? I have a plug adaptor so it fits into our home's 3-prong outlets. Thanks much, John K

Sure if you have the proper adapters. I use mine all the time at home when plugged into my home power.

Make sure you know there is a few minutes delay before it passed the ac thru. You should have indicator lights to tell you it is ok.
