The Eagle has Landed in NC

We got a Jayco hybrid (model 26L) last year and the wife LOVED camping. It had 4 bunks and the kids loved that part. So we decided to upgrade (thanks to my wife getting me a Dodge with the diesel!) to a bigger TT. We ordered it the way we wanted it and now we are the proud owners of a 324BHDS Jayco Eagle. We can't say enough good things about it. We just want to go camping more! We are planning a Yellowstone trip in July for 23 days, so we are trying to plan all of that out. We hope we didn't go too big with our 35' Eagle! We love going to State parks and just sitting by the campfire or hiking.
Paul

Make sure the State Parks you visit have sites big enough for your set up.
Otherwise I will say "Enjoy Your New Rig". Have Fun!!!!!

Regarding Yellowstone - if you can zone in on your dates, suggest you consider going ahead and make reservations for inside the park full hook-up. They sell out early. We were there for 4 nights in 2008 and stayed in a "non-hookup" camping area. We found their generator restrictions were quite confining to our life style and thus our batteries ran down. Had to power the slides in via hand.

In my opinion, staying inside the park is a lot more convenient, time wise, than the outside campgrounds. But you do have the issue mentioned above.

We were on the road 10 weeks, traveled 9,200 miles and had no other planned reservations and had no issues finding a spot. To conserve cash, we do stay in Wal-Mart about 1/3 to 1/2 half the time but we always phone ahead for permission before stopping.

We are staying at Fishing Bridge for 5 nights. Not sure if anyone here has heard, but they will NOT have electric sites for 2010. I think they are redoing the system and no eletric sites will be available. The bath houses will still have power, but not the sites.
