Upgraded from pop-up to hybrid

After 10 years of camping with our Jayco 1207 pop-up tent trailer, we finally upgraded to a 2016 17XFD!

Took it out for (Canadian) Thanksgiving weekend, and it was great... dry camped, and even with 2 adults and 3 kids on a cold three days, didn't run out of water, propane or power (though we did get a 2nd battery installed by the dealer).

Now we'll winterize it and look forward to using it next year, especially planning a long trip to the east coast with it.

Our tow vehicle is a 2016 Ford Explorer Limited, with 4WD and factory tow package.

The only challenges we've had so far is:
  • Radio speakers didn't work when it was parked in our driveway, though once we'd travelled to our campsite they magically worked
  • The propane quick connect hose for the BBQ is too short, doesn't reach when the BBQ is on the bracket... they dealer is going to exchange the hose for a longer one

Pictures

Now that I figured out how to actually put pictures in...

Also was surprised at the amount of condensation on the tent ends.... reading lots of posts about that issue and will be keeping an eye on it next season.

Congratulations. That's the same road we went down. Tent, '93 pop-up, '03 17' Jayco 17a hybrid, and now our X20E.

For condensation try opening the little flap window next to your door. That's the one I keep open and we never have any real condensation anymore.

Congratulations on the new HTT from a neighbor just up the 401 a ways. We made the move from pup to HTT last year and are loving it. No problems with condensation here, but we ventilate well even in the cold weather. If the moisture escapes, it doesn't condense.

Great pictures of the first outing! Hope you enjoyed the trip, because it is a long few months of yearning ahead. We put ours to bed officially last weekend, and I'm already missing it!
