What is the real length of my fiver?

I am in the process of deciding on the Pinnacle 36FBRS. I love the floor plan, but I have a question, on the factory specs, there are two lengths: one, the pin box to rear length, listed as 39'2" and then there is one that adds the pin, which is 40'8". I did not want to go over 40' in order to be able to camp in most State Parks. Which length is the correct one? Can I state that my RV is 39'2" when registering with a State Park camp ground? No other RV that I have shopped for has two lengths listed so this is pretty confusing to me. Do other RV's just mention the pin box to rear length or do they include the length of the pin in the total RV length? Thank you for any insights you can give me on this? Second question, if you have fiver longer than 40', do you have any problems getting into campgrounds?

The pin usually sits under the nose of the fifth wheel. In this case, looks like the pin sits 18 inches back. Your total nose to bumper length is close to 41 feet.

It's tough to get a big 5er into a lot of parks, especially if you have to back in due to narrow roads.

I'm at 34 feet, and if I have the choice, I will take the pull through sites.

Usually the CG website gives you driveway length, so it's helpful to know combined length of 5er and truck. In your case add the length of your truck from ft bumper to center of hitch plus the 39 feet

It also depends on the State and/or State Park what they mean. Some seriously mean the actual length of the RV itself, some mean the total length of the RV and the tow vehicle when hitched up. You're gonna have to make a call to figure out what the convention is at the campground you are interested in.

The best tell you the actual length of the driveway/pad area, and leave it to you to figure out if your RV and Tow vehicle will fit. Don't forget that when unhitched from a fifth, you'll need even more room as you may not want to (or be able to!) back the truck under the RV to prevent from sticking out into the roadway.

In many cases, the tail of the trailer will hang over the grass at the back of the pad, but unless you know for sure , you can't count on that extra space ( trees or boulders or fence )
