I have one data reference point for you.
We pull with an F350 6.7 SRW 2WD. Our Rear Axle GAWR is 6730# and the CAT Scale tells me that our rear axle weighs 3360# loaded to travel WITHOUT the 5er. Our 5th has 3020# on the pin and hooked up the rear axle carries 6240#. Our 5er GVW is 12780#.
BTW, I think my "Tow/Haul" mode is very helpful as is the integrated brake control.

Hello congrats on the new 5th wheel. The Ram 2500 is not rated to carry the pin weight of your camper.

I have 2014 Ram 3500, CTD, SRW, CC, 4X4, 68RFE with 3.42 Gears. My door sticker states I am able to carry 3,900 in the bed. Whatever truck you look at be sure to look at the door sticker. Different options will change the tow capacity, and all of the other measurements.

Also, the 4:10 I don't believe was an option with the 68RFE with CTD. You will have to get the Aisin Transmission to get the steeper gear or possible the 6.4 Hemi.

Good Luck! I love my RAM!!

Just a FYI The transmissions are the weak link on dodges along with the front ends. If buying used get it checked out by certified tech.

Which Truck for 38FLSA

I have 2014 ram 3500 srw loaded and have 4074 payload. I pull 16-17k. If I were u, I would go with dually. Also, the major ram redesign for the 3500's was either 2013 or 2014 (much stronger frame and other things...my 14 has 800ft lbs torque as I didn't get the aisin...I wish I had it and if I was keeping the toy hauler longer, I would order a dually with aisin and 3.73's). Ram srw only come in 3.42 rear end
