Fireworks

Did you hear about the guy who blew off his left side with fireworks? I was told today he was now all right.

Heard about it.

Don't like hearing about stuff like that. There was a report where somebody put a mortar tube on his head.

I've lived all my life in a state (NY) that had class III stuff illegal until a few years ago.

Not looking forward to the news reports that include kids getting burned or injured.

These things are NOT toys! They are something close to firearms. Some form of training is needed to understand the power of these things before you buy them.

I've been part of the crew on several professional displays. The way we worked was a much higher level of safety than the packaging suggests. "Light fuse and get away" is not enough.

A required video training film at the retailers, maybe?

[end rant]

We toured the Bonne Terre mine a few weeks ago and the tour guide told that joke but it was dynamite instead of fireworks. He had a little story behind it and he got the whole group laughing!

Here in the West, we worry more about forest and brush fires. I can't believe AZ's idiot legislators legalized fireworks a few years ago.

Lady Fitzgerald it's all about money ! Michigan gets 6% plus another 6% sales tax . Not enough to pay for disability payments in the future

All they legalized were sparklers, snakes and poppers..No aerial, no bottle rockets etc. And, it is Illegal to shoot ANY fireworks on state land. They were the 45th state to legalize these items..

The joke reminds me of a number of years ago where a nutty ecologist was standing on an overpass over a major freeway in Oregon with a large rock tied to the end of a piece of rope.

As logging trucks went under the overpass, the ecologist was throwing the rock and hitting the windshield of the logging trucks. On about the fifth truck, the rock and the rope got stuck in the cab of the truck and ripped the guys arms right out of their sockets. The truck driver stopped immediately and after the investigation, the logging truck driver got arrested and charged...

...with armed robbery!

You're right Jmooney..... that is bad. But what is amazing is that so few actually caught it.

Kind of similar to another old one...."I dated a girl in high school with one leg shorter than the other........her name was Ilene........" (rim shot).
