The sleeping bag gets a bit confining after a couple of nights, and you are practically on display to all your neighbors (not always a pretty sight for the neighbors). And even if I wanted to tent camp, the DW would not go. Her idea of minimum amenities is closed walls, a good A/C, and plenty of room to cook indoors out of the weather and away from the flies and ants. 'Nuff said.

I got to tell you guys - i love to tent camp! I also love to hang (hammock camping). It is so nice and relaxing, but I do it when I am with the scouts and I get a tent all to myself. Now if I had to share, that is a whole nuther deal....It is definitely not for everyone - but with the right gear it is a lot of run. My DW used to tent camp and will do it if she has to, but she sure loves 4 walls and a hot shower
