Crabman you would enjoy this story. When I was in the Coast Guard, I was the the boarding officer on duty one afternoon off of Cape Cod. We decided to board a lobster boat and check his catch. I reached into a tote full of lobster and WHAM! An unbanded lobster grabbed the bottom of my wrist. The Palm of my hand and wrist was black and blue for weeks. I learned a good lesson that day.

^^^ Yeah they can put a hurtin` on you. I`ve been bit right through gloves by crabs to the point where I saw stars if they get you just right.... On another note, in 34 years on the water I have never been boarded or checked by the Coast Guard even when I worked next to their now closed Parramore Island station near Wachapreague. But the Virginia Marine Resources police check us regularly.

I was culling out the shrimp catch on the back of a trawler in Pamlico Sound one time and one the guys got bit by a crab. Ticked him off so bad he grabbed the crab and pulled his claws apart and said, "How do like it?" as he bit the crab right on the eyes and mouth. Last thing that crab ever saw or did.
