I wonder what age you have to be?

A lot of places require you to be 60 or over. Some places we have been to is 55. If in doubt ask, best way. Some places you have to tell them that you are 60 and are a senior, they won't ask you. Some places don't have any discount at all.

Well in my day that would have cost $2.00.

You can ask and get a senior discount in a variety of places but if you don't ask, it is rare that they offer except is some grocery store chains.

I bet that sign brings in some business.

We have our elders dry cleaned.

Several years ago I found out that our Taco Bell offers a senior discount BUT YOU HAVE TO ASK FOR IT. Several weeks ago I found the same thing true at our Subway.

I'm not shy and the 10% discount offsets our 9% tax.

For being 59 I must have bizarre sense of humor because you were the first to get it, or at least to reply so. My body is aging but I guess I still have the mind of a 15 year old!

Well, the thread started with taking them to the car wash. Seems a bit pricey, though. Somebody mentioned getting 'em dry cleaned.

I just about choked on my Pepsi thinkin' about Grandma getting a Brazilian. Spend your Friday the 13th with THAT image in your head...

ETA: And just one more year until the local drugstore chain considers me a senior, but they start younger than most retailers.

The wash I get, but anyone have an idea of what the vacuum is for? Sounds like something better done by a medical professional.

Just like you have to sweep or vacuum the floor before washing it or you just push the large particles around - same with some of us old folks.

We sit around and collect popcorn, potato chips, yesterday's goulash, dust bunnies and who knows what else on our person. I suppose a pressure washer would also work to remove this, but that seems a bit harsh.

At 66 I can still wash myself. Do I get the vacuum for half the price? And just what gets vacuumed?
