A/C not doing its job.

This is our 4th time camping in the new 27 DSRL and I have A problem with the A/C. It cools most of the time. When we are in the sun in the afternoon the temp inside rises. If it is 85 to 88 outside it will warm up to 77 inside. Stat is set at 72, A/C full running and air feels cold from vents. any ideas?

These AC units are not real powerful. Especially the 13K unit that is included as standard. You can measure the temperature differential between the air in and the air out. As I remember it should be about 20-25 degree difference. If so, it is working normally. Also, if you have ceiling ducted AC, slide open the louvers on the unit, this will allow more cooling into the main room. Lastly, turn on the AC before the trailer gets too warm.

I just posted my results on the AC insulation wrap of the cold air boxes. It worked like a champ. However, I do also have to credit the reflectix in all the windows for part of the success. It reflects probably 95% of the sun's infrared rays back outside, which sure beats them coming in to heat up whatever surface they hit in the coach.

The temp outside has cooled down today so the A/C is not on. I will check the temp of 20-25 the next use. The stat is set at 73 all the time and A/C cycles normally in morning but not after noon in the sun

On my 13K unit, it keeps us reasonably comfortable inside as long as I turn it on about 10am and run a couple small box fans in various places in the RV. Temps get over 100 here in Texas in the summer so an early start up and box fans are a must.
