I use a mapping application with a plugin for geocaching. Right now the Android app says nothing in my area.

Best app?

I'd like too... What app do you use?
I used a free one years ago now it seems they are all pay apps?

I use Locus. It is a mapping app that is expandable. It has some learning curve, but does a lot.

Thanks for the reply though!

My 8 year old son had been bugging me to try it since he saw a YouTube video on it last week. I downloaded an app and we went to look for our first spot but the homeowner had taken it down and forgotten to delete the spot from the app. Looks like an interesting thing to do but not sure I want to pay $30 a year to get access to more spots.

Ahhh, the Geocash app works on the Ipad even though it was built for the phone.

We use free version on a PC and key the lat/long into Garmin running watches or TomTom for automobile. W carry a compass for the complicated ones. Have found them in at least 34 states so far. We don't find every one we look for but are usually successful in searches. Took us 3 years of repeat trips to find one where GPS signal was not available. Map on PC is best method for us when we get into an area where we want to search. We have them written in a book for entry as needed. Fun thing to do but sometimes frustrating. Free version gives us more to do than we have time to do.
