Anyone else find this "disturbing"?

I won a free week at the Yuma Palms RV resort for March 20-28. I was reading the rules and regulations and you cannot fly a flag on your site.. No US Flag No State flags No foreign flags...

Yes. Even nambarc would be disturbed by that rule.

I think that it's not only distasteful, but downright UN-American.

What's the purpose in prohibiting flag flying?

I would send it back to them and tell them NO FLAGS NO STAY...

They are going to make your life miserable anyway trying to sell you things while you are there...

A quick search and I found the 2015-2016 rules, see below:

"The following flags may be displayed subject to the following:

(A) Written permission from the Palms RV Resort management is required prior to
display of any flags. Please submit application “Palms Flag-1” form with your signature
and all questions answered to the Discovery Center or LOA office.
(Form “Palms Flag-1” is attached at the end.)

(B) Only one of the following flags will be approved for display; The American flag,
the Canadian flag, an official or replica of a flag of the United States army, navy, air
force, marine corps or coast guard, the POW/MIA flag, the Arizona state flag, an
Arizona Indian nations flag, the Gadsden flag.

(C) Flags will be displayed in a manner consistent with the federal flag code. (P.L. 94-
344; 90 Stat. 810; 4 United States Code sections 4 through 10
(D) Any flag shall be no larger than 3 feet by 5 feet in size"

Looking at the rules It says " Written permission from the Palms RV Resort management is required prior to display of any flags.' It further states which flags are allowed. Nowhere did I read that flags are NOT PREMMITED. It may be possible that they want to prohibit any flags that may be offensive.

What I did find disturbing was that you posted information that does not appear in their rules. Seems like you jumped the Gun before having all the facts.

But after reading the rules I will say it isn't a place I would want to camp at.

Was at a corp of engineers campground last year. Neighbor had a travel trailer rigged up that the whole side of his rig was lit up with flashing LED lights to look like a flag of a football team. I sure could have supported some regulations to eliminate that issue. Like camping in Time Square. Don't remember much about the week except that d**n electric flag!!!

Wonder how they would feel about the AR15 in the gun rack?

We were camped in Florida last month and I walked the dogs every night.

There was a camper that had a beautiful scene on the side that was lit up beautifully every night, One day I went down to take picture of the beautiful mountain scene and it was blank?

A closer look showed that what I thought was a spotlight was a projector.

It would be easy enough to call and verify the current rules. First the op says they are not allowed in the rules but the rules we read are clearly posted that you can fly with permission and there are disclaimers to prevent certain ones.

Before discarding the offer, I would verify. Sometimes rumors can get out of hand and sometimes there may be some logical explanation if it is true.

The rule page I read stated no flags may be flown except on special days, with permission. I don't know where these other pages were at.

I think it is an attempt to keep out offensive things. The rules also state that the US flag has to be displayed properly according to the rules.
