I am retired but I still consult about 10 hrs a week when I am in town. I still have an office in last full time company and I go in a couple of mornings each week and catch up on projects and make suggestions. So I am not sure.

Am I re-tired?
No, I've not yet bought new tires, but probably will need to within a year or two.

Remember this billboard campaign from the past?

Yes....June 30, 2016 was my last day at the hospital after 23 years. Loving the time off spending with my bride of 46 years. But boy do I miss going to work and seeing all my friends and co-workers at the hospital.
Happy to camp when we feel like it. We are going to Mesa Verde National Park tomorrow for 4 days or so and then on to Pahrump, Nevada for a week in September. Then..........

Happy RVing,
Jeff

Retired from the Fire Service in 2007. Sometimes wish I hadn't, but I do like to travel when I want to.

My definition of retired is maybe a bit off.

If you are working for corporate america, and you have to show up every day, not retired.

If you are financially independent, and still working every day, doing what you enjoy, but you draw income from multiple streams, not retired.

If are only drawing from your pension, social security or 401K, and your income is 'fixed' you are retired.

I picked 'not retired' for the poll and I doubt I ever will be. That said, I still have a day job so the point is kind of moot in my case. I don't want to retire, ever. I've known too many that applied that official label to themselves and were dead within the year.
