At Last !!

Well, we got our first Social Security checks last week, and official retirement starts Feb 20th. Yipppppeeeee !!!! Now if only we could get rid of 18 inches of snow and turn up the heat about 50 degrees, we'd be on our way to some campground somewhere. Meanwhile, think I'll just take a nap . . . . . . . .

Our first trip is to the Virginia Campers Spring Rally in April at Lake Anna SP. And our daughter & her family get to stay home and mind the fort while we play !

There's still about 16 inches of snow and about a hundred feet between my camper and the road. And more snow coming down right now. I'd just rather sit inside and watch it snow than try and get the camper out. But it's a good thought, Seann !

Congratulations on the retirement. After a while, you will wonder how you had time for work!
For me, retirement has been bitter-sweet. I dearly miss the engineering problem solving. I do not miss the political headaches at all.

Congrats! I cannot wait. I only have 7792 days, 1 hour and 7min until I retire.

SS will probably be one of those government plans of the past.

Thanks, everyone, for all your best wishes. Retirement finally became a reality today, and more camping trips are very high on our list of things to do in the future. Keeping up with all our friends on the JOF will also remain a great part of our lives.
