Bellingham to Coeur d'Alene

I90 or #2...I'm not in a hurry, will probably make it a two day drive staying at a campground in between. Any suggestions appreciated, especially from those who have made the trip either way. Thanks!

I personally like the highway 20 option.....make sure to spend some time and take the powerhouse tour at Diablo lake. It is a slower trip, but worth the time. If time is an issue....definitely worth I-90.....good luck!

I have gone I 90 before but we were heading further east with intent on stopping in between. I90 is a very easy drive the road is good, I know the are lots of National Forset parks throughout Snoqualimie area. I have travelled twice with our trailer along this hwy as well going to the Gorge for the Watershed festival.

Before you try to take 20 be sure to check conditions. It's been closed due to mud/socialised for awhile.
From Bellingham I would take HWY 2. Less traffic, scenic, lots of places to stop.

Confirmed hwy 20 is closed was out that way this week at Rasar state park

If you take I90 be sure and take a side trip to the Dry Falls. Moses Lake has a real nice campground also.

Looks like we won't be making the trip this year, but next year I will check conditions of 20 and try to make Dry Falls. Can anyone tell me why google maps shows it as hwy 2, but other info shows it as 20? What am I missing ?

SR2 goes through Monroe, over Stevens Pass and through Leavenworth. 20 is well north of it. I don't see any issues when I look at these 2 roads on google maps.

I've taken I90 several times and SR2 once while towing (stayed at Lake Chelan). Both are good roads - SR2 is 2 lanes most of the way, so it can be painful if there is a lot of traffic or an accident. I90 is usually faster. Check the dot website before heading out. Maybe do SR2 outbound and I90 on the return.
