Bike trailer for our pets

We have two small dogs that love to got camping with us. When we go bike riding, we have to leave them in the TH. They are well behaved dogs, but hate to stay alone while camping.
I've been looking for a used baby bike trailer for some time and found one last week on Craigslist. I picked it up for $30. I removed the side-by-side baby seat and added a flat aluminum floor under the canvas bottom. DW will pick up a patio chair cushion for the dogs to sit on while riding.

Didn't notice until I got home with it, it's a match for DW's bike.

We leaving today for a local state park, so I'll post pics of the two dogs and post them when we return

chipper, ... same story, except one dog - a pug / beagle. Ours took some time getting comfortable in the carrier. If I could do it over again, I would walk him around in it first until he was used to it. Now that he's comfortable, he uses it like a hunter would an ATV - when he sees something he wants he goes for it. He jumped out (pushed past the velcro) at a decent clip and got some minor scrapes. So, before we go out this year I'm going to have to find a better way to keep him in.

For most trips he just enjoys the ride, but I'll feel better when he is more secured. He doesn't "bolt" but every now and then something gets his attention and he exits. I looked him in the eye and told him that exiting while moving is not real smart. He responded with the same answer he has for everything - "I'm hungry".

Chipper,
I thought you had solved my problem until I seen OnTheGo's post lol.
Penny would bolt the 1st squirrel we passed.

Still thinking :-)

Since you are putting an aluminum floor pan in it... add an eye bolt and short leash. that will keep her in the carrier. (make sure you use a large washer under the floor)

Actually, the aluminum under the canvas floor is expanded material.
We rode them around the yard(test ride), with the screen pulled down and they didn't try to jump out. They wear a halter with leash. I was planning on leaving this on them while they're riding in the trailer. There is a bar across the top where the leashes can be attached. They are both well behaved.

This is Kilo. He's Min-Pin/Terrier Mix. We adopter him about 3 years ago.

This is Emi. She is Pomeranian. Her do is called a Fox Cut.

I have to tie a leash around the trailer frame, especially for the brown pup.

What about using a Ruff Rider Roadie chest/body harness like you use to secure dogs in cars ? That way he/she couldn't accidentally jump out and strangle on the leash. Just a thought.

DW towing Kilo & Emi around the park.

Snaped this shot while passing by.

I think they liked riding. They didn't try to get out.
