Brrrr!!!
Western Kentucky is definitely in the deep freeze right now ... I don't think it got much above 20 yesterday, barely cleared it today (it's 20 right now), and last night it got down to 7 degrees.
BRRRR!!!
If I wasn't ready for spring before, I SURELY AM NOW!!!
I just keep telling myself ... Spring Break is the last week of March. I'm ready to de-winterize and hit the road!

Enjoy - and be safe! We won't be able to hit the road until the kids are out for SB, but we plan to be on the road that week and also again as soon as they are out of school in May. Believe me, I am REALLY looking forward to it.
I guess the good news is that it's a shade warmer tonight ... a whole 15 degrees!

I remember now why we don't live in the snow! Man! you folks get pretty cold there!!!! Here it was an unusually warm day today (mid-60's and no wind). But this is the month that the night temps can dip into the low 30's for a few days. We will probably get some rain off and on for the next two months. BUT! No snow!

Our local prognosticators are calling for 3-5" of the white menace tomorrow and Thursday. But at least it should be the powdery kind. I can still shovel that stuff a little at a time, as it weighs much less than the heavy, wet variety. Not to mention it's easier on the RV as well!
I'm limited to lifting 10 pounds b/c of my spinal disorder, but I still try to do whatever I can. Makes me feel like I still have some usefulness left.
Meanwhile, I'll have the Mrs. keep the hot water on so I can have plenty of hot cocoa once I come in from the cold.

We ended up getting a little less than three inches of snow, but between the wind and temps hovering in the zero to 15 degree range from Wednesday until yesterday, it was all but unbearable.
My kids ended up having a four-day weekend and a one-hour delay in going back to school today. I fully expect we will have that again tomorrow.
The good news is that we're FINALLY expected to crack the freezing mark on Wednesday with a forecast high of 38. If it happens, it will be the first time in 2010 that we've been above freezing! This isn't a record, but it is unusual even for us, as our January average high temp is around 40.
I shouldn't complain, really. It's been much better so far than the winter we had last year, when we had four inches of snow fall on top of two inches of ice, and that mess hung around for nearly 2 weeks. Hundreds of thousands of folks across Kentucky lost power for what seemed like an eternity, and the tree and other damage was almost unbelievable.

Oh Yeah! And to think that the sunshine state of Florida where a lot of retired Easterner's actually "Sno Bird" to in the Winter... -actually FROZE-... now THAT really sucks!
BTW - Next week we are anticipating one straight week of rain where we live *pout* I think it's gonna feel like Seattle out here for a bit.....
