We don't go too far without at least two of our three Standard Poodles. We camp with them regularly. As one is a retired show dog and the youngest is working on his championship, we have been and will be in the fifth wheel with them a lot. Parking lot camping at dog shows....

Our retired girl.

We've always taken our dogs with us. Used to be our chocolate lab, that was a long time ago. Now we take our Husky and Malamute.. The Alaskan Malamute is only 7 months old, but he's pushing 100 pounds so he's going to be a monster. Next camping season should be interesting.

I've started researching something better than the tie out around the picnic table we usually use.

We babysat a 18 month old Malamute once for some friends for 6 months...That was a huge dog!! At least the friends paid to have our house cleaned after she "blew" her coat during the spring! She was a great dog tho! The DW has a Morkie (Yorkie/Maltese mix) now. Had a white lab prior to this dog. Honestly I don't think our household would be without some sort of k-9 companion!

This is Sierra at age 4 months during her first camping trip. Looks like she figured it out:

Nothing worse than campers that let their dogs run all over the place. All campgrounds have dog leash rules and should be followed. Seems like there are always those that think the rules don't apply to them! I know none of you are like that but there are those that can ruin a camping trip.

Our boy Henk is approximately 10 this year and he goes with us on all RV trips. He is an amazingly happy boy, very goofy and smarter than most people (myself included ). Our previous girl was a German shepherd-Shelty mix and she went on all our trips with the tent trailer and then the motorhome.

I trained my dogs to "respect" the fence when they were puppies and this has always worked well. They go where I go and are excellent travel companions. Not much help driving though )

Up until a few years ago where ever we went, our Pure Bred Black and Tan Coon Hound went with us. Was awesome traveling for she slept all the time and was great with our daughter as shown in the photo!

No pics, but for the last 4 years always took our two Aussies. One of the reasons we bought an RV. Sure, they can limit you - National Parks are not very dog receptive, for example. But then again, I'd rather put up with that than to pay the "hotel" costs to leave them behind.

Our oldest passed away this summer. So for the upcoming season it will be the 9 year old....and a very young puppy. Should be very interesting......

I agree. We were at a state park last summer and we were walking our dogs on leashes and all of a sudden this dog comes running out from under this camper and attacked my dogs. I started kicking the dog in the head while trying to pull my dogs back. Finally the retard owner came out and tried to catch his dog but couldn't because he didn't even have a collar on. He was yelling at me because I would kick his dog in the jaw every time he came at us. He finally got his dog pulled away and then tried to tell me he was a good dog. I gave him a few expletives and basically told him that dumbasses like him who have no common sense and no courtesy are the reason we have to have 10million rules and regulations on public lands because dip****s like him don't know how to behave.

We went to great sand dunes national park last spring and it was dog friendly.

Tunce just loves all her vacations and about a third of the time it's our base camp and we hotel it in the cities and wineries.
