Wayne,

Ya'll be safe drivin' down to the Lone Star State, ya hear? Weather forecast for Central Texas for late next week is lows in the mid-30s and highs in the mid-50s with showers every day. Wish I could rustle up some sunshine and warm weather for your arrival but that is above my pay grade.

Have you decided where you and Marti and the gang are going to sit a spell once you get to Texas?

We were in central Illinois yesterday (Amish cabinets) . We started with nice weather driving (started) well an hour into the journey. I noticed snow on the semi's bumpers. Soom we were into a great white winter storm with the wind blowing and the cars going side ways into the ditches. We made it there and home ok. Today there is a beautifull snow drift in front of the Designer. The wind has not stopped, with the snow blowing around (winter stinks).
Well I wonder if we will be out of here Monday, not that I'm giving up yet. I did see alot of RV transporters driving I-57 yesterday. They were driving real slow. I guess the deal breaker will be Monday at 5 AM. I guess our plans are written in Jello.

O N HOLD

Looking at the weather map and the Snow forcast once again we are on Hold!!! I am thinking Wed or Thur. We still have acouple things to take care of. We loaded up today and I almost hooked-up, I was going thru my list and Opps.
The Black Pig has a full load of Deisel fuel 80 Gals. Well I guess I can clean up Yogis hair in the back seat as I watch the snow tomorrow.
Well I guess we're better off changing plans rather going on our side.

Wayne, Marti, Yogi and Blackie,

A great big HOWDY and welcome to the Lone Star State! Sorry about the Houston traffic--we try to avoid going through Houston at almost any cost. If you take the toll road you get charged by the number of axles rather than by the number of vehicles--YUCK! And once you get on a Houston freeway you better drive fast or you will get run over.

The good news is, you arrived safely in Matagorda and the weather is balmy. Parts of the Texas coast got up to 72 degrees yesterday. There is a cold front due in tonight with winds of 25-35 miles per hour but it may not reach as far as Matagorda. If it does get to your location just do what native Texans do--hunker down and let it pass. If you don't like the weather in Texas just wait a day or two and it will change.

Best wishes to ya'll

Here is a link to Mustang Island State Park if you think you might want to try a no-frills park (water, electric, dump station, paved roads and pads) with ready access to the beach: http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/spdest/f...ustang_island/

The park is located between Aransas Pass and Corpus Christi.

I'm jealous. It snowed yesterday, and is supposed to snow again tonight/tomorrow. temps only in the 20's for highs. Will this winter ever end?
Glad things are warm in Texas and that you are having a good time. We will all have to live vicariously through you, so keep up the posts.

Well we moved today! We are in Aransas Bay RV Resort. This place opened three weeks ago. Good WiFi, a great rate @ $ 150 Wk or $ 275 a Month. We got a week so far but may extend.
Today I pulled a Wayne Move!!!! I lelt the Black tank sprayer hook-ed up from the first campground. Got here and hooked up the water. You know I thought I heard something.
( Bad Move ) Marti came running out screaming ( not a happy camper ) I guess I need some more towels. Well at least the Prom Queen is still talking to me.
Well life is great on our end!!!! Time to explore tommorrow.

Wayne & Marti

O'Ya we got 10 LBs of fresh Shrimp

Hi Wayne and Marti,

Hopefully your 5th wheel didn't have too much water spill.... we have to hook up our black tank sprayer by pulling the hose through the window, so I guess that's one experience we may not share with you LOL!

Glad you are safe and having fun. Have you had any stormy weather to contend with?

Enjoying Texas !!! We sure are having a ball here but we will leave in a week or so. Traveled to Aranasas Port with the Ferry ride and down to Mustang Island. Couple day trips to Corpus Christi (USS Lexington) King Ranch some 830,000 acres. (Thats Big) Drove thru a pile of campgrounds (RV Resorts) some they pack you on top of the next guy. Just not my style looked at one today that had outdoor kitchens $$$$$$ and patio's with landscaping, two had Hot Tubs too.
Looking to travel up to Austin then up to Fredrisksburg and up to Killeen (FT.Hood) & then down to Houston (relatives). I'm tired just writing this but we look forward to more exploring. Well we are four weeks into our journey and we are doing pretty well. I have up dated my blog if you would like to see any of our trip. Hey leave a comment!!! Wayne
