I'm of the age I was a "flower child" in the sixties. Listened to the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Cream, Jimmy Hendrex etc. But, in my record collection there was always a Merle Haggard record. Understand, I didn't tell my friends that. But, if the truth be known, I bet they had one in their record collection.
