Difference in our forum and others/ morning campfire thread

If you are bored or just want a bit of entertainment read this thread about the ever so controversial subject of morning campfires on RVnet that was eventually closed. Thankfully you do not see this kind of jousting here, or us mods would demand a raise! ( I suppose I was bored, I found it and read it)

I only read the first of 12 pages then I figured out what the rest must be like.

You can have a fire anytime you like just don't put your garbage in there. I could never figure out why some folks prefer to burn their garbage instead of tossing it in those huge dumpsters at the campground...just sayin.

Talk about a lot of off topic posts.

But you have to read deeper to see the mods get lambasted and roasted, Mr.T and more then likely many posts have been deleted and sharply edited so it probably was even worse earlier.

I stopped going to the other RV forums about 7 years ago. It used to be way worse believe it or not. There were some real armchair commandos running around there for a while. If you even brought up over night stopping anywhere other then a camp ground they'd follow you around to other threads and flame you for no reason. I had one guy threaten me -- and when I called him on it by giving him my address I was the one that got called on it. Morons over there.

Those forums as bad as they may be are mild compared to the newsgroups related to RV topics. Most of the gang there are real flame throwers...

This forum and the RV Community Forums have the nicest (and most knowledgable) posters and the best mods. The iRV2 forums are next down the line. There are a few more posters that haven't a clue what they are talking about there and the mods do alright even though they do tend to get overly touchy on certain subjects.

The RV.net forums are full of complete idiots and selfish, self centered jerks who are completely clueless about that they are talking about and many of the mods are lazy, arrogant jerks who promote their own agendas and often violate the rules themselves. It's a great place to get information but you have to carefully vet what you read there. I stopped posting over there for a while there because of the improper (actually changing the meaning of what one posted), heavy handed, anal moderation that went on over there at the time. The moderation has improved somewhat but it's still pretty bad.

As bad as RV.net is, the Escapees' Forums is the worst. They have a dominant clique of resident "experts" over there who will viciously attack anyone who has the "gall" to ever disagree with one of them, even though the person disagreeing with the "expert(s)" has provided proof for what they said. I've seen them chase people over to forums other than Escapees to attack them, often lying in the process.

Give me a minute, let me throw on some of my old oil-soaked cut-up railroad ties that I brought from home, then look north to Michigan..., you should see the black cloud in about 10 minutes!

Bob, railroad ties are just a step up from Salt Cedar. Nasty smelling stuff that newbys try and burn in the desert.
