Do you have personalized license plates?

What are the letters and numbers and what do they mean?

I have a custom plate every 10 years. One of a kind and I let the state decide the number.

No need to waste my money giving it to the state, Michigan charges a $30 yearly fee for vanity plates.

My late uncle hated his given name of "Merton" and always went by the family nickname of "Murff". I believe he had connections with low places as he actually had the license plate "MURFF" before it was legal to have vanity plates in Washington State. (He knew someone in the license plate shop in the state pen).

Two years after he passed away, I purchased a used Ford Ranger and checked the state website for the availability of the MURFF plate and got it. It has now been on four of my vehicles over the years.

I support Washington State Parks so have a state park specialty plate for my MH. It costs me an extra $30 a year.

You can't get a vanity plate for a trailer in Pennsylvania.

73's from a fellow ham.

I won't personalize my vehicle where it is easily identifiable by anyone other than law enforcement. No bumper stickers, no 'pro this, anti that', pro-life, anti- whatever... Someone has to take me to dinner to get that information. My call sign doesn't go on my truck, regardless of how proud I am to have it. It doesn't make me feel any better about my life when I 'announce' to the world my causes, and I'm definitely not going to put my FCC call sign on my truck so any whacko can look me up in the database and visit me at will. If I'm even in the position to give away most of my income, it will be anonymously. I do have my Army vet license plate on my truck as a sense of personal pride, and the 2 times I've been pulled over with them on, they shake my hand and tell me to carry on. I'm firmly in the walk quietly and carry a big stick camp. All people know when they see my truck is I'm ex-military and I'm towing a 'house'.

When a personalized license plate can be easily traced to your home address, I'd say it's probably not worth it.

My plate is GUNAR. I wanted GUNNAR but it was taken and they wouldn't tell me who had it so I could try and talk someone out of it. Gunnar was my grandfathers name.

My license plate is also my amateur radio call sign 'AE5HO' -- in Texas you can have this plate on up to three vehicles including a trailer so my Truck, Trailer, and Car all have this plate.

My plates are not personalized, but they are specialty plates.
Here in Minnesota, we have many options for plates aside from the regular plates.
I spent 8 years in the US Navy and find myself rather patriotic (See Avatar), so I ordered the "Support Our Troops" plates

No personalized plate, but the one I have has been on four different vehicles over almost 20 years. Around here, when you trade in a vehicle for one of the same type, you can transfer the plate over. So I have the same plate on my 2013 F-150 as I did on my 1992 S-10. It's looking kind of beat up.
