My wife and I quit within 2 weeks of each other over 30 years ago, cold turkey. Still smelling just great!

No one in my family now smokes except my 87 year old mil. She is a pack a day smoker. We don't see much of her.

I voted Used to.

I smoked for almost 35 years. In 1999 I quit. Cold turkey.

I was not coughing or short of breath or any health reason to stop.
It was getting too expensive. (And this was 1999!!) I thought about all the chrome goodies I could put on the Harley for this kind of money.
....and at today's prices you could buy the Harley!

After quitting it became apparent that the WORST complainers about smokers were, if fact, ex-smokers. As for myself, it did not bother me to be around smoking.

Fast-forward to today. Now we have eCigarettes. You may not get cancer but you are subject to self-destruct at any time.
Totally ridiculous concept.....eCigarettes!!

[Steps down from soap box and walks away]

I smoked 2.5 packs / day for 35 Years. I quit in Aug 2014 with the help of an E-Cig. I learned to mix my own liquid and decreased the Nicotine content until I hit Zero. I have been E-Cig free since March 2015. Never felt better. I got to the point I felt like I was sucking air through a straw. Always winded, heavy breathing that disturbed co-workers. None of the above now.

I admit it.....I smoke. I smoke cigarettes and when I need to I take a couple of hits off my one hitter filled with Blue Cush (pot} for pain. It's my only vice. My doctor used to ride me about smoking, until I asked him one simple question....."doc, which one is going to do me in, the cigarettes or the tumor in my head...."......he hasn't said a word since. With that said, I don't smoke around people who don't smoke, I don't throw my butts on the ground, they get field dressed and go in my pocket until I get back to a proper trash container. I didn't start smoking until I was 42, when my unknown condition was becoming an issue....2 years later I was diagnosed. Smoking calms me, smoking pot eases that daily pain levels and the migraines.

If I had a life time supply of cannabis, I would never touch tobacco. I smoke roughly a pack every 2.5/3 days. It varies really. I often smoke Malboro 72's - Short cigs.
I also tried the whole vap thing for awhile and I'll admit that def cut the cravings. I stopped because suprisngly vaping was hurting my throat more than smoking cigarettes!? I've actually been tinkering with the idea of getting another vap pen though.

I also smoked mullein on and off for its health and medicnal benefits. It grows wild here in KY. I see it often while hiking. Works great as toliet tissue too

Not since 1987 , was a 2-1/2 pack a day non-filtered Camel smoker. Don't miss it, wish the DW would quit
