NAM USMC. Probably self explanatory to us old types! Viet Nam and in the United States Marine Corps for those that don't understand. Boy, that was a long time ago! Still paying my dues from that damned agent orange! Having to deal with advanced prostate cancer. One day at a time and just keep on camping!

When my brothers and I were young my grandparents bought a camper and would take us for outings. Of course they would be asked "are we there yet?" from us. My Grandmother would always respond "just wait a minute, around every corner there is a surprise" and she was always right. We lived in Cape Breton N.S. and they took us on many trips all over that island. My wife and I love to explore new places and when we turn down a less travelled road I always say around every corner....

Needed a user name for a different application. It was the month of our 30th wedding anniversary. Came up with our first names and the 30! It'll be 44 years this September.

When our kids were small as I came in the door from work my wife would make a fuss and say, "It's da poppa!" It's stuck after 30 + years.

I live on Long Island, which makes me a Long Islander. Went with the abbreviation.

I was in the military stationed in Japan years ago. While riding my mountain bike down the street doing a wheelie, a little 4-5 year old girl called me "Henna Ojisan" and asked what I was doing in Japanese.

Henna means "Crazy"
Ojisan means "Old Man"

HennaOjisan seemed quite fitting at the time and stuck with everyone so it's still being used...

Gee it must have been about 25 years ago...A virtual world called "Worlds Chat" started up on the interweb. One of, if not original Virtual worlds where people could use Avatars and Chat and mingle online. My AV was a Vampire so I thought I would call myself "Darwood" after the father in "Bewitched". Well I typed in Dagwood by mistake and it's stuck ever since, primarily because It's how a lot of Web folks know me as I used to game alot in "Meridian 59" and then spent lot's of time on Forums like this one. Aside from TacomaWorld and JOF, I used to participate a lot on the NHL Sens/Flyers/Caps/Wings/Tampa/LetsGoPens and Leafs User forums.

Now, I'm old and limit myself to little online activity but do love visiting this place.

I'm a NASCAR fan and use to follow Rusty Wallace when he raced (still follow the car with Keselowski driving and even when K. Busch drove it). His car was called the "Blue Deuce" since it was blue and his number was 2. I've used it for almost all the forums I've joined and it was available here so that's what I went with.

Side story...I used it on another forum (car forum for modding cars) and just so happened I had a 2002 and the car was blue! Worked really good in that situation!

Also works for my favorite college basketball team too...University of Kentucky. Their primary color is blue and a basket counts for 2 points. Been watching UK play basketball since the mid 70s so well before Rusty Wallace came along...of course there were no computers back then!

OK, that's it I guess.
