Final trip of the year

As the first step in our winterizing, we book an end of season trip so the holding tanks can get flushed well, things get put away properly and of course enjoy the final camping trip of the year!

It's sad to see the season end, but I hope next year is even better!

It's a sad time of year... Our final trip is next weekend, but you're right, there's always next year.

Same here, we are getting ready to go for our last trip this year as well. This has been a very good year for us, God has blessed us to be able to go camping one and sometimes two full weeks a month April thru October. My wife and I have been very blessed! And we hope everyone else has had a good year of camping as well.

It is coming to a close. We still have a few more trips planned for the extended season.

We just got back yesterday from our last trip out this year. We were on a full hookup site and it's so much easier to winterize that way. Kinda weird though winterizing when it's 85 degrees outside [last day]. Of course, today the high was 62 and by Sunday morning, frost/freeze warnings. Most of Indiana's parks shut down their water in less than 30 days, so we decided to call it a year.

It so throws us southerners when you guys talk about the last trip. We are just getting into our prime camping season. We went last weekend and already have two more reserved for end of October and over thanksgiving. Last yeat we were camping in January, February and March. See you guys in the spring.

Right?! This is when the camping gets really good! I LOVE this time of year for camping! Only reason I winterize my rig at all really is because I can't hardly use it between middle of January and middle of April because of work. Otherwise I'd just blow the water out and call it good. But last year, end of January and most of February were pretty cold...

Tex, you are so right. We are just getting into the good camping season down South. We are leaving next week for the mountains of Georgia and the Georgia Mountain Fall Festival. Have November and December trips all planned out as well. We always spend a couple weeks around Christmas and New Years in a corp of engineers campground on the Alabama/Georgia border on West Point Lake. We go at least once a month even through our winter months. See all you Northerners in the Spring.

I'm in Nashville and while it does get cold we keep right on camping. I do a lot of winterize / de winterize but it only adds maybe 15 minutes to the setup / breakdown tasks so we don't mind it. I love the cold weather camping. No bugs and a camp fire is great. I think the heat in my trailer works even better the air conditioner too so it's comfortable in there. I would hate to pause until spring.

I'm also sad to see the season end. I wanted to go camping this weekend but the DW said we have to much going on this month. With all of the area CGs closing for the season on Oct. 31, we are done.

There is a storage facility within site of our house and there are trailers lined up waiting to get into the storage building.

We are all hooked up and ready to head out for the last weekend in Bar harbor Maine.

We're on our last trip now in northern NY. Checked in Thursday and staying through Monday. This CG, as do many others around here close on Monday. Placed is packed though and we have great, chilly weather.

We're on our last trip too, heading home on Monday. Campground is full, with only a few tent sites left.
