Started this in the wrong thread so I'll put it here and hope for better results.

As a hint:

National Historic Register: No dumpstation, pit toilets, boat camping, hand pump, 61 sites up to 50 amp electric, visitor center.

It's going to take more than a hint for me. I was looking for something I might recognize, but I'm sure I've never been there. It's by water, but everything in Michigan is near water. it looks like a great place to visit.

Historic State Park on the south side of the UP. Fayette State Park. Great except no dump or fill.

After crossing the Mackinaw Bridge, we went west on Hwy 2 towards Lake Gogebic so we passed Fayette Historic Park to the north. We came back east on 28.
