REI has the Garmin eTrex 30 Bundle on sale for $249.99 (reg $369.95), which is cheaper than the eTrex 30 stand alone.
I have the eTrex 30 and for a handheld GPS it has a lot of features in a compact unit. If your into Geocaching it has the paperless feature via USB.., and also has a Fitness mode for a wireless heart monitor. I have never had an issue with satellite reception ..., and best of all it's extremly user friendly, I can't say that about my prior Garmin 45 handheld model.
