Gas going up again

It went from 3.15 to 3.39 in the last week and a half or so. I saw on the news where a some govt ethanol subsidy expired ?? It looks like another Spring / Summer of high fuel prices. Bummer.

Say it aint so! lol

Maybe now they will take that garbage out of my gas and quit messing up all my power tools. We are up to $2.99 at our local Costco...I think I paid $2.79 last week...bummer...

I have to say I like my Gas Buddy app that finds the lowest price around....more and more useful these day....

I can't say I am sorry to see the Ethanol subsidies expiring. Maybe that will help the price of food to go down a little since farmers won't be financially motivated to grow more corn. On the bad news side, I saw a news story here recently saying to expect to see prices spiking this summer before the election.

I wonder how much of the price of oil is being impacted by the Iranian threat to block the Strait of Hormuz?

I have to wonder if it changes the ethanol equation in the gas in any way or just means higher prices for us? No fan of ethanol here either, with all the boats and power equipment I use..........

From this West Texan who has relatives in the Oil & Gas industry who knows this sort of stuff, "Drill Baby Drill". There is enough oil underneath the USA to completely dry up our dependance on foreign oil and drive the price back down to under 2 bucks a gallon....and that money would stay in the U.S. economy....talk about a stimulus plan!

Some states (agricultural) have ethanol in the gas because they have passed laws requiring it.

How many gallons of gasoline does one barrel of oil make?

U.S. refineries produce about 19 gallons of motor gasoline from one barrel (42 gallons) of crude oil. The remainder of the barrel yields distillate and residual fuel oils, jet fuel, and many other products. Refinery yields of individual products vary from month to month as refiners focus operations to meet demand for different products and maximize profits.

In SE Wisconsin were currenly at $3.32 for Reg unleaded.

Healthi, you get to pay more because the state of California knows what a gallon of gas is worth.

We'll be seeing $4.50 by summer for regular. I don't see why diesel is so high anyway. It's just a byproduct of gasoline. Ethanol is just a moisture absorbing corrosive additive

The price of gas here was $2.95 yesterday. Actually went down a few pennies. No ethanol here. We get most of our gas out of Canada. Of course that is 85 octane. My V10 works fine on 85 octane.

Wyoming gets fuel out of Canada. Sask. is close to Wyoming. Fuel costs less in Wyoming?

My head hurts.
