Going After Diamonds Now...

I left Sam Houston National Forest this morning. For some reason, I just felt like cutting my trip short and heading towards home. Part of it was all the doom and gloom going on about fuel prices, but I have things to take care of back at the house too, so I figure I'll be home by the first week of March instead of the first week of April.

I'm in Arkansas now, just a couple of hours from Crater of Diamonds state park, where I plan on camping for a few days, and sift the dirt for diamonds. I had planned to do that in November when I started the trip, but the weather was so nasty when I left I just decided to get my butt as far south as I could as fast as I could.

I'll post pics if I find a diamond or two. Or of a shiny piece of quartz, if that's all I find.

Love to hear how that goes. We are heading to Hot Springs in about two weeks and prob won't make it that far this trip, but we are going to the quartz and crystal mines and it should be a lot of fun. I understand you need clothes you never want to see again!

I guess I'll find out about the clothes. Thanks for the warning.
