Going To Daytona 500

My birthday was a few days ago and my wife surprised me with tickets for the 2013 Daytona 500. It's going to be my first race, can't wait! It's not going to be a camping trip but I do have some questions. Here is the package information that she bought.

Two nights hotel accommodations at the Florida Hotel and Conference Center in Orlando, FL
Check in Saturday, February 23
Check out Monday, February 25
DePalma or Seagrave Box Ticket to the Daytona 500 (Sunday, February 24)
Roundtrip deluxe motorcoach transportation from the hotel to Daytona International Speedway on Sunday
Official race program and myRacetravel welcome gift
Professional myRacetravel staff on site to assist
All taxes and gratuities included
Reserve now and pay a 25% deposit at time of purchase

She also purchased the hospitality add on which includes

Admission to the myRacetravel Hospitality Chalet located in the Daytona International Speedway Hospitality Village
Buffet style lunch
Unlimited access to cold beverages
Entertainment
Pit access
Sprint FANZONE access
Covered seating in the Hospitality Village!

Can anyone give me a rundown of what I can expect to get and see with this package? I'm clueless since it will be my first race and I don't know anyone that's even BEEN to a NASCAR event, let alone the Daytona 500. Thanks!

Avid race fan here, however not NASCAR. I have only been to one NASCAR race and I didn't have nearly the package you have. The only advice I can give is to bring good ear plugs as those cars are LOUD! Also, get ready to go to tons of races because after you have been to one, you will want to go to every race of the season!

I live in Central Florida and have been to the Daytona 500. There really arent' any bad seats. You can see good, but I would recommend to bring binoculars to use if something happens on the far side of the track. Its crowded, its hot and everything is expensive. There are lots of displays and vendors set up outside of the speedway, but once you go in, you can't leave and come back. So b ring good shoes, as it will be a long day on your feet.
