Happy Thanksgiving!!!
To all you Canadians on this site. Happy Thanksgiving!!!! This would have been a great long week-end to get out into the hills. It has been warm and sunny something we did not have this summer in our neck of the woods. Last year at this time it was -7C and snowing.

Wow, had to Google to find that Canadian TG was 10/11. Had no idea. Sorry, but happy Thanksgiving!
Of course if you are Canadian, you already know of Terry Kelly. He is an inspiration to all.... Check him out . From an American who loves him!!!

I'm in Calgary, but many moons ago I used to live in Ontario, London, Peterborough, Kingston, St. Thomas. Enjoy your turkey day and this beautiful weather.
For a little history, Thanksgiving is different here in Canada as we celebrate the harvest and that is why it is earlier.

Yes, I remember when this song hit the internet and all my old military buddies were sending it back and forth.
November 11th. is known as Remembrance Day here in Canada and throughout the Commonwealth, in the US you call it Veterans Day, and in the last couple of years there has been a resurgence due to Afghanistan and younger people are starting to attend services throughout the country. It makes me proud.

I've participated in Remembrance Day with my kids at school in Ontario when we lived there - loved the fact that it wasn't considered a 'holiday'...the program was part of the school curriculum so the kids were all part of it. The kids thought it was great. Not so here in BC, where kids are out of school and ceremonies are somewhat voluntary. I'll still be out there - uniform on. I've done my tours. I live the life. I remember.

I wish my uniform fit!!!! I have learned that over the years, being stored in a dark trunk that uniforms shrink. My medals haven't shrunk so I wear them proudly Nov. 11 on my blazer with my corp. crest.
