No, I deserved every fine I ever got! I know the rules and if I chose not to abide by them then I deserve what's coming to me. I pay up like a man and expect my kids to do the same.
Where's the No only !!!

Only fines I've ever received have been speeding (when I was younger & not towing) and parking tickets for a meter that's run out. I was guilty each time and sent in my money.
No sense being childish about it.

x2, almost
I fought a ticket that I got for parking in an unmarked handicapped spot, but the hearing officer wasn't buying it, even with pictures to prove my point. Ended up paying the fine (with a check) instead of fighting further as it was cheaper than taking more time off work.

Always paid any ticket or fine that I had even if I didn't deserve the fine or ticket.
Figured I got away with more than my shares worth so it was my time to contribute.
And the way I figure it I am still ahead of the game

No, and never will. Your "protest" will not change anything and only punish the civil servant accepting your fine and cause him/her to have a fubar day... and he/she did nothing to cause you to get fined... nor can they change whatever you're protesting... so why would someone do that?

Yes! I got a ticket at the New Jersey shore in the 1960's. I parked and fed the meter, but someone stole the meter and I got a $35 ticket for being in that parking space. The judge didn't want to here anything about it. So I paid them in pennies and nickels as my protest, because that was a lot of money back then.

+1 to this.
I've earned every fine I had to pay, and I paid it relatively peacefully. Like I said, I earned it, so why ruin someone's day.

When the company I worked for went on a wildcat strike (around 40 years ago), I wrote all our creditors to explain that, until the strike was settled and we were back on our feet (back then, we lived paycheck to paycheck), we wouldn't be able to pay our bills right away but would catch up as soon as possible. All were cooperative except one jerk doctor who immediately turned us over to a collection agency which started hounding us. When they insisted that we had to pay something, I sent them a check for a dollar, which they refused to accept. I told them to never call again and, when they did, reported them to the State. That stopped the calls. That doctor was the last one we paid once I was working again. Even though we made payments to our other creditors until we were caught up, he didn't get one cent until after everyone was paid off.
Paying off in coins would have been childish and wouldn't have accomplished anything other than creating more work for me.

Never thought about paying a fine that way. I just give the cops every opportunity to make a mistake in court. Beaten a few tix that way.

Nope. Do the crime, pay the fine. If I was being fined for something that I truly wasn't guilty of, well.... can't say for sure what I would do.

Back in my early 20s I got a ticket while on my motorcycle for running a police barricade. This has been the only ticket i ever received and I sure didn't run a police barricade, I went in and talked to the judge explained what happened and he seemed to understand but upheld the $80 ticket. So I counted out 8000 pennies and dropped them off at the court, they said we cannot take them. I asked to see the judge again, he said we don't have someone to count them, so I asked now what do we do since you won't take my payment, he said charges dropped take your pennies and I don't want to see you again.

I have another name for it, but can't say it on a family forum..
Here is another poll.
WHO WANTS ABARKI TO STOP MAKING ALL OF THESE POLLS?
1. YES
2. NO
3. Does not matter to me.
I have slowed down my visits here mostly due to his polls. While RV related polls are fine and even fun sometimes, I find these are becoming to many and mostly just a waist of time on a Jayco RV forum.... Yes.. I know. . I can just not click on them, but sometimes the subject matter isn't a poll, so I don't know if someone is asking a legitimate question until I click on the link...

I think any poll that is not RV related should be banned. Some people have to much time on their hands. LOL

As an administrator of a message board the non specific to the board mission threads are where the community really bonds, or not. It depends on the poster.

8,000 pennies weighs about 40 pounds. I'm not sure I want to punish myself.

As long as non RV related posts or polls are in the campfire chat and break no rules then its game on. Same goes for tbe game threads which some enjoy and some find a distraction. There is always the "ignore thread" feature if desired.
