Holy Snow Batman! Look Where I'm at Now!

I left Moab this morning, and drove up into the La Sal Mountains. Got my TT and truck parked in a great spot with a great view. Only problem is, it's snowing, blowing, with lightning and thunder.

It's great living this life!

I'm leaving the truck attached to the trailer, just in case I need to make a quick escape. I was able to move the TT to a spot where it's almost perfectly level, with the help of a few 2X8 leveling boards.

I can't believe I can access the internet up here through my Blackberry.

Man, the snow is really coming down now! Starting to stick to the ground, too.

Well, I have plenty of propane and plenty of gas for my generator. I just hope the outdoor plumbing doesn't freeze.

Here are a couple of pics showing the La Sal mountains behind me, and the Colorado river valley to the west. I bet I can see for 100 miles out my little TT windows.

Man, it doesn't get any better than this. A cold beer, falling snow, and a nice, warm gas furnace keeping me warm!

Panama City would be nice... but I think this is more exciting.

Bill

I have to admit it is 54 degrees this morning at the beach. But supposed to be back in the 80's later today.

It's 5AM and started snowing again. There's a little on the ground, but not much. The temp is 27 degrees outside.

I kept the furnace set at 70 degrees last night, warmer than usual, because I figured enough of that heat would radiate into the outer plumbing to keep it from freezing.

I did pour a half gallon of antifreeze into the empty gray tank to protect the drain pipe and valve. Wasn't so worried about the larger black tank plumbing. I still have running water this morning, so I guess I'm OK.

It's kind of fun testing the limits on my 26BH. But I know that if I ever upgrade, I'll get something that's designed to handle cold weather. I guess I need a 4 season RV instead of this 3 season one.

Here's a pic of my truck, before it went down the Shafer trail in Canyonlands NP. You can see the switchbacks in the road on the left side of the pic. I went farther than you can see in the pic, but not to the bottom. The road got too rough for my highway tires. I gotta admit, it was an exciting drive!

The next pic shows Shafer trail from the canyon rim above. The trail leads to White Rim Canyon.

I just took a walk up the road towards Geyser Pass Trailhead. About a half mile up the road, in the mud, I saw some bear tracks.

The snow continues to fall, but it's mostly melting when it hits the ground.
