I will start this one out....actually there was a couple ways. First, being a newby I had a lot of questions. I found another forum that is centered around recreational vehicles (name will not be mentioned) and I guess I irritated 2-3 barracudas on that forum that let me know in quite a few words that my simple yes or no question had been asked weekly for years and that I should search for the answer rather than waste their time. Never did get my question answered, so I went to Google and found JOF. We have a different breed of fish here. If you ask a question, you will get a friendly answer. We have great members here.

After buying our used 5er, I had some questions. Tried to Google some answers, and one reference search turned out to be an answer to a question on JOF. Liked what I saw, and the rest is history.

When we purchased our first TT back in 2008, I was rather overcome by all the questions that I was not able to answer. I became a member of a different forum for RV's (and I will not name that forum, but we all know which one it is). While some of my questions had been answered, I realized that others had been criticized by other members and I became uncomfortable by what other members where saying to people like me who where new and simply wanted to get an answer. I understand that the question I had may have been asked before, but why not simply answer the question and help the person instead of saying "Find it yourself!"
That was enough for me, so I searched the google for Jayco Travel Trailers Questions. I guess I did it on the right day, because I am here now and could not be happier with all members here.
Thank You everyone for making this place much better than the other forum that we all know about.

I was sitting on a beach in Virginia and this crab boat full of drunken crab fishermen went by and on the back of the boat was a JOF bumper sticker.

X2
Pretty much our story/experience as a newbie at others rv forums trying to ask questions. Many members answering our questions wound up either flaming each other, arguing, derailing the thread, or simply insulting anyone who didn't agree with them; including insulting us who were asking a question in the first place LOL.

The Jayco Owners Forum (JOF) was only a month old when I first found it on Google. There was only one other regular member when I joined. So with the few of us that had become members here in the beginning, the goal was to make JOF the "safest" and most family friendly rv forum on the net. Glad to hear the positive comments over the last few years regarding JOF remaining family friendly

I owned another brand and had all kind of troubles and was at factory and dealership more than I had it. So got on google and for rvs and Jayco came up and so done research and looked at this forum and that was a breaking deal for me. So now I own a Jayco.

I did a Google search using Jayco and vbulletin. I'm familiar with the vbulletin format and like the way it flows and works. (As opposed to Yahoo groups for example.)

You can blame vBulletin for you now being stuck with me as a new member. vic

Not 100% sure exactly how I found it but I'm very glad that I did. There have been more helpful posts and people in here than most other places I've visited on the web.

I really can't remember. I am big on forums of most of the more expensive things I own. I do know, I joined the day after I bought my TT. I belonged to a couple of others when I owned my previous TT, and was not real happy with the answers I received on questions I asked. The night I bought my TT, I read most of the manuals that came with it, then did a google search for Jayco and there it was! You don't belong to a chevy forum if you own a ford do you?

When we had our Montana 5er I signed up for the Montana Owners Club (MOC). It was friendly and very helpful. When we were looking at Jayco trailers I searched for a Jayco Owners Forum and found this place. There were others but most had old posts and this one was just a little more active. Now it is almost as active as the MOC.

It was:
1. Google search
2. Blind luck
3. Divine intervention
4. Jayco dealer (after I was already a member of the JOF)
5. None of the above (A friend that owns another brand of RV sdaid that Jayco has an outstanding forum filled with information, advice, and tips.
It's been Happy Camping ever since.

I loved the 2 Casita forums. So googled "Starcraft forum" and whala!

I do enjoy the forum, but the consistency of the Casita trailers made those forms very trailer specific and they were very active. Here, IMHO, a trailer is a trailer and the information is generalized.

Can you tell I miss my Casita?
