I haven't bought a book of stamps since Bush was president. I buy one when I need it, about two or three times a year.

I might use three or four stamps a year. I can't remember the last time I bought any (thank God for Forever Stamps).

I clicked "Stamps?" I am not sure how often my DW goes through stamps. Actually she uses the postage machine at work. I don't think she uses stamps on Christmas cards.

Now me, myself and I; in the past two years, I have bought two books of stamps, one for myself, and I have used two stamps out of that book. The other book just bought two months ago was for scouts to send out letters of recommendation for Eagle Scout candidates. Should still have enough stamps for one more scout. Hopefully he gets his Eagle completed on Saturday!

I use 3 or 4 a year, for estimated tax payments. It's been so long since I bought a book, I don't remember how many there are in one. Isn't it 20 stamps in a book?

I used to use 14-16 stamps a year.

Now that my divorce is paid off, I'm down to less than 2 per year.

So a book of 20 will last me about 10 years. I'll loose track of the thing first.

It takes me 3 or 4 months to go through a book of stamps. There is some business that is still done by mail. And of course sending greeting cards to people. Other than that I do everything online.

Self-employed, so I use our meter here at the office in the rare event I need to mail something personal. We mail a lot of items for work though, so we spend a fair amount on postage, we just don't "buy stamps", we "feed the meter" instead.

Funny thing is, we have gobs of stamps of varying amounts all over the office. They're a holdover from when they used to use stamps. The price would go up a couple cents, so they'd buy rolls of 1c or 2c stamps and supplement the ones they already had. We'll still use them now and again, but I just think they're funny.

It all depends on my actions. When I screw up, which according to Kitty is often, Kitty tears stamps out of my redemptions book! Sometimes it is several pages worth. It is hard to recover.

3 or 4 books over the course of a year - majority for cards around the holidays as we do most everything else electronically now. Anything that requires more than 1 stamp I send out at the office as my employer allows us to use company services for personal mailings. A day or two later I get a "bill" in my In-box along with tracking information if it was a package. Payment is sent back via "inter-office' mail and I'm done.

Interesting responses, we use hundreds of usps stamps every year. Christmas cards alone is ~100.

We require our kids, as we do ourselves, to send proper hand written thank you notes whenever appropriate. This is probably another 20 stamps a year.

Our older daughters go to sleep away summer camp for a couple weeks each summer. We send them traditional letters and they send us, grandparents, several friends letters as well.

Looks like many on the forum have abandoned the practice of writing letters, cards, etc. we are trying to keep that tradition alive with our kids. It's fun to receive a letter, but you don't get them unless you send them.
